The work continues for the RYE staff as the strike rages on. For the unfamiliar, the IWW has been helping the workers at Real You Electrolysis with their strike for just over 8 weeks now. The workers went on strike after 75% of the staff was fired for organizing a union and asking for voluntary recognition.
Having spent this long fighting, an update has come from the workers.

The owners of the shop have chosen bankruptcy over coming to the table. Chosen to shut down the shop, which was doing valuable gender affirming care. This, however, has not deterred the workers. Instead, they have turned their attention to a fresh start. One that will allow them to better protect themselves as they serve their community. And they’ve chosen to do so with our help.
In their most recent statement, they have officially announced that they will be coming back. Not under the same name, or same owners. As a worker co-op, officially under the banner of the IWW. We will keep a watchful eye on the future of RYE’s staff as they navigate the path. When the time comes, we’ll support them.
