FIGHT LIKE HELL RALLY

The Northsound Branch 450 of the National Association of Letter Carriers has invited Whatcom/Skagit IWW GMB to join them in solidarity this Sunday, 2/22, at their Fight Like Hell rally in front of Bellingham City Hall. Please join them.

The said, “the rally is part of a coordinated national day of action as letter carriers prepare to enter a new round of contract negotiations with the U.S. Postal Service. While our current agreement produced incremental gains, we continue to face deeply entrenched mandatory overtime, prolonged use of precarious non-career positions, and wages that are not keeping pace with the rising cost of living.

This round of negotiations also comes under new postal leadership, raising broader concerns about job security, automation, and the long-term direction of the Postal Service. Though bargaining happens nationally, the impact is felt locally — in the neighborhoods we serve, in the small businesses we deliver for, and in the working families who rely on stable public services.

The rally is focused squarely on workplace and contract issues rather than partisan politics. It’s about demonstrating that working people in Northwest Washington are organized, vigilant, and prepared to demand dignity and fairness on the job.

We would be honored to have fellow workers from the Bellingham IWW stand with us in solidarity. Cross-union and cross-movement support strengthens all of us.”

Local news outlets have reported on the upcoming rally and ongoing contract-related issues that have necessitated the direct action.
