A spokesperson from the Evolve workers asked us to circulate this message.
“We are disbanded as a boycott/protest group. Most of us have decided to move our energy into securing our next job, so we won’t be picketing outside Evolve again.
Wish I could say otherwise, but my voice is in the minority and I want to respect the wishes of my former coworkers and their need to find some stability in this time.
Thank you for everything’s you’ve given and I hope this last time will not be the final time we stand on a line together!”
Whatcom-Skagit IWW sends our very best to the workers at Evolve. We stood with them in solidarity after they walked off the job to protest the firing of a fellow worker and the poor work conditions in the Evolve Cafe. The experience for all was hopefully positive in the long run, and will encourage all of them to be prepared to organize wherever they end up working.
